Join our friendly group and explore Buddhist meditation practices and teachings
Come to a Newcomers Morning - 21/9/24 Join Our Weekly Sangha NightA Vibrant Community
We are part of the Triratna Buddhist Community so Sangharakshita is our main teacher.
We are a friendly and welcoming group of people, drawn together by our wish to explore Buddhism and meditate together.
One of our strong points as a sangha (community) is we are a small friendly inclusive group, good at supporting each other, and not too overwhelming in numbers.
We welcome people over the age of 18.
Weekly Meditation
Meditation is an important part of our regular Tuesday Sangha night (see ‘sangha night' section for more up to date details on the next meeting.) We provide guidance on the various meditations we use in Triratna which includes the Mindfulness of Breathing, the Metta bhavana (cultivation of loving kindness).
The evening is always structured so that new people will be given the support they need to join in.
We aim to have a practiced focused evening once a month where there is a chance to review our meditation in small groups. We have used the Sikkha projects to cover several series of study sessions and we aim to balance a series of study evenings with a series of more reflective/ meditative evenings. Whatever we are planning to cover in a session we always end with a meditation session plus a closing mantra.
Funded by Generosity
Our classes run on donations and we suggest £7 although you are free to donate whatever you want. However we’d rather you come along even if you aren’t able to make a donation.
